Controls
Play with the keyboard or a gamepad. Every key and button can be changed in Settings › Controls.
Keyboard
The default keys for each PlayStation 2 button:
| PS2 button | Key |
|---|---|
| D-pad up, down, left, right | Arrow keys |
| Cross ✕ | X |
| Circle ○ | C |
| Square □ | S |
| Triangle △ | D |
| L1 | R |
| L2 | F |
| L3 (left stick click) | V |
| R1 | T |
| R2 | G |
| R3 (right stick click) | B |
| Start | Enter |
| Select | Backspace |
The keys are positions on the keyboard, and the defaults print the same letters on QWERTY, AZERTY and QWERTZ layouts. The settings show the letters of your own keyboard. The left stick is off on the keyboard by default; Settings › Controls can give it four keys.
Gamepads
Xbox controllers and PlayStation pads (DualShock 3, DualShock 4, DualSense), and other pads the browser recognises, work through the browser's Gamepad API. Connect the pad, then press any button: browsers only show a pad to a page after a button press. Settings › Controls has a detector that names the pad and lights up what you press.
The pad's buttons follow the browser's standard layout, by position:
| PS2 button | Xbox pad | PlayStation pad |
|---|---|---|
| Cross ✕, Circle ○, Square □, Triangle △ | A, B, X, Y | Cross, Circle, Square, Triangle |
| L1, R1 | LB, RB | L1, R1 |
| L2, R2 | LT, RT | L2, R2 |
| Select | Back (View) | Share, Create or Select |
| Start | Start (Menu) | Options or Start |
| L3, R3 | Stick clicks | Stick clicks (L3, R3) |
| D-pad | D-pad | D-pad |
| Left and right sticks | Both sticks, analog | Both sticks, analog |
Change a key or a button
Settings › Controls draws a PlayStation 2 pad whose buttons light up while you hold them, so you can see what each key does. Click a button on the drawing, then press the key or pad button you want for it. The stick dead zone is a slider in the same place, and Reset controls to defaults brings back the table above.
Two players on one computer
Settings › Players gives each of the two seats a device: the keyboard, the first or second gamepad, or automatic (the next free pad, else the keyboard). Up to two gamepads are read at once. For a match between two computers, see Play online.
Play now Chrome or Edge on a computer, nothing to install.
